Partner Marcella Auerbach has served twenty-five years as a federal prosecutor. She has prosecuted corporations and individuals in a wide variety of circumstances, including matters involving tax fraud, tax evasion and failure to file violations. She has taught at numerous training conferences for federal prosecutors and agents on topics such as federal court/trial advocacy, as well as investigative techniques and evidentiary presentations. Tax fraud cases that she worked on while a federal prosecutor include a multi-million dollar tax evasion trial.
An attorney since 1986, partner Kenneth Nolan received his education at Yale University (B.A.) and the University of Florida (J.D.), and was formerly a Trial Practice Adjunct Professor of Law at a major law school and an instructor and faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy. He has well over a decade of experience in dealing with complex business fraud and financial fraud litigation. Mr. Nolan is an accomplished author on compliance, FDA matters and the False Claims Act, with numerous articles to his credit.
A skilled and aggressive trial lawyer, partner Matthew Pavone is a former federal prosecutor who served for over ten years in the US Attorneys Office for the Southern as well as Northern District of California. A Phi Beta Kappa member, Mr. Pavone upon graduation from law school served as a law clerk to the Honorable W.T. Swigert, U.S. District Judge, and Northern District of California. He maintains an active individual practice in California.
